The annual State of the Community Event was held Thursday, October 5th at the Belleville Yacht Club, and was organized by the Belleville Area Chamber of Commerce.

Tri-Community leaders gathered to listen, speak, and discuss the current affairs of Van Buren Township, the City of Belleville, and Sumpter Township. 

Speakers at the annual event included Congresswoman Debbie Dingell, Wayne County Commissioner Al Haidous, Van Buren Township Supervisor Kevin McNamara, Mayor of the City of Belleville Kareen Conley, Sumpter Township Supervisor Anthony Burdick, and Van Buren Township DDA Executive Director Merrie Coburn.

Following an update from Supervisor McNamara, Van Buren Township premiered the 2023 State of the Township video, which highlights the accomplishments of Van Buren Township's elected leaders, directors, and community leaders throughout this year.
