"World's most sophisticated roadway" being built in VBT

Exciting news! Cavnue & Michigan DOT are creating the world's 1st connected & automated vehicle corridor on Michigan's I-94.

Wayne County is taking a bold step into the future with a groundbreaking $10 million project! Say hello to the "world's most sophisticated roadway" - a connected and automated vehicle travel lane on Interstate 94! Construction kicked off on Monday, August 7th, and the Michigan Department of Transportation is leading the way.

This innovative pilot project will feature cutting-edge digital infrastructure, spanning a 3-mile stretch of the westbound I-94 from Haggerty to Rawsonville roads. Think underground electrical conduit to power connected and automated vehicles (CAVs).

While the shoulder on I-94 will be temporarily closed until early September, the result will be totally worth it!
