Tele-Care is a service which provides a telephone contact to senior citizens.
There is no fee for the service, but donations are accepted. the answer to the
question.]
The basic purpose of this service is to help satisfy the desire of older
people to live more independently in their own home and have a daily phone call
to assure their health and safety. The Tele-Care callers also have knowledge of
other community services offered to the senior citizens and, thus are a great
"Information and Referral" source.
Tele-Care is extremely beneficial for those older persons who live alone or
who are temporarily alone. For them, a telephone call at an arranged hour once a
day may mean the difference between life and death.
If the telephone contact is not made at the appointed time, an emergency
phone call is made to a designated neighbor, friend or family member. Your
emergency contact person will check on you to be sure you are all right.
Please call the Wayne County Senior Citizens Services (734) 727-7373 and ask
for the Tele-Care Program.
